I recently installed a new CPU on my computer. It now levitates a few inches above the desk. Never mind, I digress…
I don’t know how this could possibly have any effect on my NetFlix account, or Silverlight, but I immediately started getting a DRM Error – N8156-6013 when I tried to watch a movie. Now, don’t get between me and my movies.
The error tells me there might be a problem with my system date. Well, that’s just plain ridiculous. Here’s what it looks like:

Here’s how to fix this most annoying problem on Windows 7:
- Browse to “C:\Users\All Users\Microsoft\PlayReady\”.
- Rename “mspr.hds” to “mspr.hds.old”. (or just throw it into the Recycle Bin like I did)
- Retry watching a movie on Netflix in your favorite browser.
- You may have to Log Out of NetFlix then back in (I didn’t have to, but I’ve read that some people did)
The question remains, “Is it a Netflix problem, or a Silverlight problem?”
If anyone knows, I’d sure like to hear about it. – Thanks for your comments,
Richard
